Ha, and those are not switchbacks. I don't know if it naturally terraces like that or if it's man made but those weren't trails. The trail had one long traversing switchback here and that was it. Weird, huh?

I've been told those are "anti-erosion" terraces cut in the mountain during the depression to keep people at work!

Interesting. If they are, then they appear to be working. Doesn't appear much erosion has occurred since they were put in then.
