The info given for the route was excellent. On Brace Mtn I had to do a little searching for the trail but once I hit the red marked Mt Frissell trail the tri corner marker for MA/NY/CT, high pt marker for CT, and summit for Mt Frissell were all within about a half mile of distance. Ninety five minutes from the trailhead to the summit one way. I did after it poured the day before and the steep parts of the trail were treacherous at best! Great hike though.
Two Steep Routes Taken... Date Climbed: Aug 3, 2008
In the early morning, I took both the South Taconic Trail and the Standard Route. I wanted to see the views of Round Mountain and Bear Mountain. These trails are much steeper than even I expected, but the scenery and viewpoints make it worth the trip.
This was the fourth of seven HPs (plus Washington, D.C.) I would reach in two days' time. HP #28 for me.
