Southern Beech Fern (Phegopteris hexagonoptera)
Southern beech fern occurs from southern Ontario and Quebec south to most of the eastern U.S. Its more common in the south than the north and prefers shade in moist forests. This photo is from the Allegheny National Forest in PA. July 2001
