Sunset Summit  Sucess!

An awesome climb of the Southwest Ridge of Symmetry Spire. We got a late start and ended up scrambling up the first pitch to save time. The climbing was very fun and the view of the Tetons was beyond beautiful. We also ended up doing the climb in 4 long pitches instead of 7 in order to save time. It worked out fine with only one slightly awkward belay station. We got to the summit just as the sun was sinking behind the peaks of Hanging Canyon. Being on a summit above 10,000 feet at sundown was an experinece i will never forget. We ended up having to scramble down the northwest ledges and the upper and lower symmetry couloir in the dark. On the way down we could see a blood red moon rising above jenny lake(the smoke from nearbly fires had literally turned the moon blood red).
