Class 4 section?

Did you cut back right (from 2. to 3.)?
I did this a couple days ago and took the first ramp to its natural end before a hard switch back right. I had this pic for reference but never felt like I hit the 30 ft of class 4 climbing you mention.

I did see a potential cairn breaking right before the first ramp naturally ended but I also saw a path clearly continuing up the ramp, so I followed that.

Re: Class 4 section?

Yeah agreed, just did it yesterday. The 30 ft of Class 4 is certainly there, but you can continue to the left of it to keep it at comfy Class 3 and then just hook hard right. If anything (and this could be a "well what kind of conditions did you have" argument) I'd say that the middle of the lower ramp, right when an overhang pushes you away from the rock walls to your right, felt more Class 4, but only a couple of awkward moves before it widened out. Just wasn't much to hold on to, loose dirt underneath so hiker tread was shot, and the overhang really prevented freedom of movement. Other than that wee bit, felt the rest was Class 3, the upper ramp was way wider than I thought it'd be.
