| Ninth HP on a 3 week road trip thru 17 states. Road was snowed over so had to hike the last 1 mile. Afterwards drove over to Backbone Mtn for sunset. Seneca Rocks were stunning. | |

| After hiking Mount Rogers, VA in the morning, I got a late afternoon start on Spruce Knob. Parked at the beginning of the dirt summit road and rode my mountain bike all the way up to the peak. Don't remember the exact numbers, but it was a good bit of mileage and elevation gain. Hella fun. HP #14. | |

| I grew up in Charleston, WV, so I'd wanted to climb this one for a long time. The road up is a lot of fun and the top is spectacular with the spruce and boulders (though that's not an unbiased opinion). The view from the tower is great. | |

| I was surprised by the sheer mass while driving from Harrisonburg and through the tiny mountain settlements. Tons of chipmunks and wild turkeys on the mountain as well. Nice views from the tower but the brush was a little thick to see a ton. | |

| Beautiful day. After car travel sidelined highpoint adventure the day before, we rocked the lumberjack trail to the huckleberry trail, a nice leisurely 16 mile round trip adventure. | |

| Originally planned to hike here from the Seneca Creek trail down to the falls and up Huckleberry Trail to summit. After a night camping at Judy Springs, we set out down Seneca Creek. It was then that the full scope of my girlfriend's crippling phobia of snakes was realized. Turned around and a long hike back to the car to a short drive to summit. Will have to come back again sometime to fulfill my original plan. | |

| Quick detour to Spruce Knob during a day hiking at Seneca Rocks. There's some nice solitude here once you get a little distance between yourself and the summit tower loop trail. | |

| Some views on the drive up but the top was covered in fog and rain so there was no view at all. All to myself at the observation tower, but windy and cold. HP #16...on to MD same day. | |

| When I went up there were a couple of inches of snow on the ground. I tried to find the USGS marker but I couldn't. I was the only person there and it was beautiful! | |
