Stake Ladder
The first documented summit of Devils Tower was completed on July 4, 1893. It was a widely celebrated event, the handbill stated "There will be plenty to Eat and Drink on the Grounds;" "Lots of Hay and Grain for Horses;" and, "Dancing Day and Night." This is a photo of the historic stake ladder used by local ranchers William Rogers and Willard Ripley.
