Standard East Ridge route on...
Standard East Ridge route on Quandary Peak, pictured here on November 2, 2005 from near pt 13,146 on the ridge. Snow was patchy, but 24" deep in some areas. (There was a firm crust... occasionally.)

I had twice as much snow as you did when I summited more than a month earlier....is Colorado's snow situation pretty bad?

That's what wind can do in Colorado's mountains, especially warm winds. We're in good shape for water purposes. Most of our snow accumilation actually happens during the Spring.
