| The soft sand made the hike somewhat challenging but at least it was below freezing and sunny. Had a great time and took many great sand pics :-) | |

| Came to the park the day after significant rain, making it a much easier trek across the sand. Reached Star Dune approximately 45 minutes after leaving the summit of High Dune. | |
