coming out of the gully. This is some steep snow that gets you up to the avy debre field below the couloir part of the hourglass. Sorry for the blurry picture, but this was the best photo that I had that shows the angle. January 2011

Yikes...no way, Jose, for me, with the "one ax and a trekking pole" method. ;)

yeah it was a little sketch. You just gotta put alot of weight onto your pole and ice axe to move up. The snow was a little soft in this section. No problem! How often are you in Arizona?

It's hit or miss when I'm actually in AZ, but I get there at least once - usually twice - a year. February and October are typical times I like to visit. I was there for a month this past February! (I telecommute/work from a home office.)
