Stevens Creek Mount Rainier National Park, August 2009 Look at the tall logs caught sticking up between the rocks! With its boulder and tree clogged channels it is definitely worth a stop along the Stevens Canyon Road even when the water is down in the summer. Stevens Creek runs through Stevens Canyon and was named after Hayward Stevens who along with P.B. Von Trump made the first recorded successful ascent of Mount Rainier in 1870.
