| My entire family made the summit, guided by my 4 year old daughter. We did the loop, taking the horse trail back down. Very windy and cold, but as my daughters both said, "It's beautiful Dad". | |

| Began at the Old Rag parking area and climbed over Old Rag, descended via the Saddle Trail, then up the Old Rag Fire Road, taking a right hand turn onto Skyland-Big Meadows Horse Trail, crossing Skyline Drive, and up the Stony Man Trail to the summit. On the descent we had to make a pit stop into Skyland Resort to find water and interrupted the Apple Butter Festival there. Then we headed back down the Skyland-Big Meadows Horse Trail to the Old Rag Fire Road, took a left on the Corbin Hollow Trail and finished on the Weakley Hollow Fire Road. It was approximately a 17.7 mile day. | |

| Easy, very enjoyable summit. The view from up there is the best in SNP, even with wind, pouring rain, and fog obscuring parts of the view. | |
