Striped Shield Bugs

Striped Shield Bugs ( Graphosoma lineatum ) are very distinct black insects with five red lines on the pronotum. They are about 10 milimeters long. Their larvae are brownish. Adults appear in summer. Both the larvae and the adults are fond of plants in the Carrot Family (Apiaceae) and feed on them by sucking. The Low Beskid - June 01, 2008.
