Stuart Fork in Trinity Alps

Rangers stated everything in Northern California is still frozen hard above 6000ft but that ain't true! The Stuart Fork trail up to Morris Meadows and Emerald Lake is dry and wonderful. The scramble up to Caribou Pass from Portuguese Campe is also dry as a bone! Great hiking for July, but getting hot already! I will admit that all north & northeast facing slopes are pretty packed with snow though. Caribou Lake lies in such a bowl and is just starting to thaw.
