Sturgeon River Gorge Preview - Canyon Falls

This preview to the main Sturgeon River Gorge is very accessible by car friendly highway, unlike the gorge. The trail actually begins in a roadside rest area on US-41 15 miles south of L'Anse, south of the small town of Alberta. The one mile level trail quickly brings one into waterfalls, then bigger and more dramatic canyons. Canyon Falls, shown here, is the centerpiece. Many miles downstream the main gorge begins. May 2013.
