Sunset View from Taft Lodge

Taft Lodge is a very old and famous lodge along the Long Trail. It lies on the northern side of Mt Mansfield, about a half mile down the mountain. The view looks southeast, over the town of Stowe, VT. The sunsets are quite wonderful from this lodge, as can be seen in the picture. Notice the bench in the lower right corner for anybody to relax at, while at the lodge. The night I stayed at the lodge there were only a total of 4 people, even though it can hold up to 16, so there was a lot of room. This was day 21 of 28 on the Long Trail. (July 15, 2007)

excellent

series of photos on the Long Trail! looks like an amazing trip! The Worcester Range is in the sunlight on this one. I would like to hear about your trip sometime, likes, dislikes and favorites!

I have many more photos from the Long Trail but didn't want to overload at first. I may go back and choose more. Also, I have been thinking that I would like to write up a good detailed trip report on my thru-hike. Time right now is the biggest factor. It was a great trip. I will let you know if I get anywhere on the report.
