Re: Beautiful view !

Thank you Sir for your kind comments.
Sust or Sost is a small town of the Northern Areas of Pakistan. It is the last town inside Pakistan on the Karakoram Highway before the Chinese border. The town is an important place on the Karakoram Highway for all Tourist and Cargo transport. Pakistani immigration and customs departments are based here.
The town of Sust is connected by the Karakoram Highway to Karimabad, Gilgit and Chilas and Islamabad. However, the border crossing between China and Pakistan at Khunjerab Pass (the highest border of the world) is open only between May 1 and October 15 of every year. During winter, the roads are blocked by snow.
China opened a dry port at Sust on the Khunjerab pass near its border with Pakistan to promote trade between China and Pakistan and launched a new bus service between Kashgar(China) and Gilgit(Pakistan).

Geologically fascinating

I distinctly remember seeing the edges of an ancient lake shore on the valley walls high above the town of Sost (translates as "crazy"). This was caused by a rock slide which blocked the egress of the Indus many thousands of years past.
