Sustenhorn: between Tierbergli hut and Susten road. May is usually the best month for skiing here, but this picture was taken in SEPTEMBER after a heavy and sudden snowfall.

Crevasses in September can indeed be dangerous. We climbed this part of the mountain on a different route and only used it for downhill. (You can see no upward track). Going downhill has 2 advantages: you can overlook the glacier and you are fast, so when it breaks, there is a big chance that you reach the other side. Moreover, we visit this place very often and know most of the crevasses. On this picture, you see that we kept in the middle of the funnel.
