Sutter Buttes Sunset

Sutter Buttes Sunset

This was shot in the Sutter Buttes National Wildlife Refuge, whihc is located about 8 miles southwest of Yuba City, an hour north of Sacramento. This is a wonderful area for birding as it sits right under the great Western Flyway. Truly a very peaceful place.

Re: Good grief!

Thanks a bunch! I'm really quite fond of this shot myself. I don't spend much time in this area and simply got lucky with the conditions. Thanks for the kind words!

gives me a new perspective

whenever I drive through this area on my way to Grass Valley, it always came off on me as an ugly, stinky, hazy, flat, and boring stretch of land, but now i'm not so sure! great shot.

Re: gives me a new perspective

Hey David -

I can understand how you'd feel that way. I've driven through there a number of times and kinda had the same feeling. This day, for the obvious reason of the weather, was different. I'm just glad I was there to take advantage of it!

Thanks for the overly kinda words about the image!
