Sutton Mountains and Painted Hills

Taken on the road just before turning onto the Painted Hills Unit. For years I have drove past this spot and admired the two hillsides and the mountains in the rear, but I was always somewhere else during sunset and had never casptured the sunset from this location. One day I had been in the Painted Hills Unit from before sunrise and stayed until about 2 PM, and returzned just for this particular shot. I was fortunate to have this lone cloud as it formed just seconds before I captured the image.
