Svolværgeita Spiral Route Overview

Svolværgeita Spiral Route Overview

We completed the Spiral Route in 2 pitches, the first from the mountain-side saddle up the right hand cleft to the ledge (where we can be seen climbing in this photo - if it's too dark, lighten your monitor!) and a second pitch on the town-side face to the right hand 'horn' in this photo, followed by a short leap across to the left hand horn and rapelling mountain-side from a bolt attached to the right hand horn at the lip of the notch top centre. Svolvær can be seen a few hundred metres below on either side. Taken from above the mountain-side saddle, by Anne Christopher (July 2006).

Great weather shot. This picture sure does feel like Lofoten!
