Swallow Crack, 5.6 | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Ron leading Swallow Crack, placing his first piece of gear. I think any placement before this point is for psychological purposes, because it won't keep you off the ground. Taken 5/7/07. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | rhyang | Cool | |
Voted 10/10 | I think this was the first trad climb I ever followed. John slung the horn that Ron is standing on with his right foot as I recall - probably a good anti-zipper piece ?

Hasn't voted | It was one of the first trad routes I followed also. Probably true for a lot of folks who live near the Central Coast.
As soft as the Pinnacles breccia is, I'd be nervous about slinging the horn. You can get an awfully good hex placement from the stance where Ron is. | | Posted May 7, 2007 8:45 pm |

Voted 10/10 | I remember cleaning a few hexes on that route :) As you mentioned the horn is probably a bit low for actual leader pro, but might have been decent enough to keep the stuff above it from zippering - I don't remember enough about the route to say ... | | Posted May 7, 2007 9:34 pm |
