Sweet Thin, 5.9

Sweet Thin, 5.9

5th Pitch- 140’- 5.9/ The best pitch of the day and perhaps best pitch on the north Brownstone Wall. Follow a bolted section up a very solid and blank varnished wall, mounting a thin and delicate flake (5.9) the whole distance (awesome feature). You can actually hand jam into the flake. The bolts were placed, as you will find the flake to delicate to protect with gear. Mantle up past the flake and follow a hand rail traverse right to a bush, then climb a great hand crack (5.8) on solid rock to the base of a large varnished chimney/flaring crack. Re: looks amazing!

thanks Radek...I like POD, not as much as DOWT, but quite a pleasant climb I thought. You two must have found a warm day...that canyon seems a bit cold for me right now. I really went after Three Choclateers, but had a client from Toronto who typically does not trad climb and thought the start was just a bit sketchy for that so we moved over to this gem....very nice, no asterisks by Handren, no FA info even, but in my opinion trumps both Armatron and Requiem, couple of very cool pitches. Cheers
