Tanks Peak (CO)

Once you leave the main dirt track at a saddle, where there was a cattle water tank and plenty of cattle, this jeep road goes uphill and really gets nasty. My wife was certain I was going to wreck the truck trying to save a mile or two of hiking. Well, it turned out that I was glad to have made the effort because about 1/2 mile further on, the road got better and there was a big old bull waiting for me. Yikes. It was nice to still be in the truck. I managed to drive another mile beyond that point to a point where I was a mere mile and a half from the high point. 8-12-09
