Taper-leaf penstemon is widespread in the northwest U.S. and northern Rocky Mountains. An interesting thing about this species is the diverse colors the flowers can be. Generally its blue, but pink, white, yellow, purple and even greenish flowers occur. There are four varieties of the species. This photo is from Fields Spring State Park, Washington. July 1999
