Gorgeous big tarantula (Aphonopelma chalcodes) seen on the Mount Wilson Trail in the Little Santa Anita Canyon in the San Gabriel Mountains. It crossed our path and quickly sought shelter underneat some smaller rocks. August 23, 2008
