Teton Alpenglow

Teton Alpenglow

Brilliant sunset alpenglow light on Mount Owen, 12,928 feet, and the Grand Teton, 13,770 feet, as seen from Cascade Creek to the northwest - July. The weather the entire day was overcast and drizzling, but I set up my camera anyways before sunset time. I thought I started seeing hints of a warmer reddish light on the peak but friend thought I was crazy... but a few minutes later the peaks lit up with some of the most amazing light I've witnessed. Yes!

Simply gorgeous. And to think I live ~200 miles from those mountains. Poor me...

awesome!!

Great photo! I've only seen these mountains from other directions; mostly east. When I move to Colorado this summer I'll check it out on my next trip to the Tetons. But I wonder if I could ever catch the scene with this magnificent light!! Great job!!

A real clipper!

The surreal colors of nature cannot be matched even by the cleverest of people who custom mix and sell us paint based on a little sample we bring in
