is ita free standing formation or is there a ridge or something to hike off from the back? Nice Rob - had no idea Pinnacles had such things!

Re: is itThanks Radek, it's kind of a peak-type thing .. the guidebook says there is a fourth-class walkoff down the SE side, though I've heard there might be moss and poison oak involved :)
Also be aware that this thing is subject to raptor closures, something we neglected to check on before climbing it (embarrassment).

Re: is itRob, thank you for all the info...so if this is part of the NP system, I take it dogs are not allowed on the trails there? You & Lisa got some real geoms posted on that place - psyches one up for a visit :)

Re: is itHmm, you are probably right .. here's what it says on the website about pets.
The Discovery Wall & Tourist Trap areas over on the east side have a lot of good routes to start with. It's pretty nice in the springtime and a nice intro to Pinnacles climbing. Pavel has climbed some hard stuff on the Monolith (near Discovery Wall).
I think just about anything in the guidebook with stars would be worth looking at. There is also a Pinnacles forum over at www.mudncrud.com :)
