The cloud covered Zillertal Alps from high on Großer Moosstock

Visibility wasn't too good today, but since the forecast had predicted rain in the afternoon, with a possibility of thunderstorms even, I was happy to have a view like this. Unfortunately, the summits are not recognizable. The white patches are the small glaciers on the south side of the main ridge of the Zillertal Alps, which defines the Austrian-Italian border. I think that this photo captures the section of the ridge from Hochfeiler to Schwarzenstein, though perhaps the latter is just behind the nearby rocks on the right. I'm flexible when it comes to planning, and often I don't know exactly where I'll go next. As it happened, some two weeks later I would actually be climbing the highest peaks of that very ridge! 27 July 2014.
