I'll give you a 10...but

I'm not going to get into the politics of global warmimg. Using W as a bullet point for this is a joke. However, all else was very good, well written, great points, wonderful photos and a topic we should be very concerned about. Very good, but a unwarranted cheap shot at W wasn't needed.

Re: I'll give you a 10...but

That part was just sarcastic. Honestly. Somewhere in the article, I stated that I didn't want to get into the politics, either. So that really was a joke that was meant to be seen from both sides. Maybe I should add in a quip about Al Gore, too.

Thanks for reading the article and commenting.

Edit: Added something on Gore.

Sorry Bob I missed that it was sarcasism. Again, nice article.

A few of them are not going away soon

Take a look at your picture of Blackfoot Glacier. Does it look like it is on its last legs? It is still sizable and crevassed, indicating some life. Since 1966 it has lost 23% of its area, according to NOROCK. The largest glacier is Harrison Glacier which has lost just 9% of its area since 1966 according to NOROCK. Harrison Glacier is not going to disappear anytime soon. All but three of the remaining GNP glaciers are disappearing fast, but that they will all disappear by 2030 is just not realistic.

So sad

I visited Glacier National Park from Going to the Sun road and at Logan Pass was wondering where the big glaciers were. There was Sperry and that was about it. We were more entertained with the wildlife and grassy mountains than the glaciers of the park.

Re: So sad

Unless you're on the peaks themselves, Logan Pass isn't a good place to see the glaciers. But it is sad to see the glaciers keep shrinking. Many are vastly diminished from just 50 years ago.

Glacier Park

Is there any chance the glaciers will return?
