The Drowning Pool in...

The Drowning Pool in Þingvellir Park where women who committed adultery, infanticide or perjury were tied in a sack and thrown in the river (which was more turbulent in medieval times than pictured here). Ah, the good old days! (Don't worry ladies, men were just beheaded for their misdeeds.)
