Sometimes referred to as a "dry" glacierCommon at the lower ends of the big Himalayan glaciers eg the Ngozumpa Glacier south of Gokyo in the Solu Khumbu.

This one...is fading fast. The latest photo I've seen of it there is almost no snow or ice visible anymore. They say it will be nothing but a rubble field by 2020.

Re: This one...I drove by there just two weeks ago and there was no snow or ice to be seen from the highway.
