Grand
The Grand and Moran were my first climbs. Its nice to see it again from the South Teton. Very good indeed PanamaRed

Re: GrandThanks man! The Owen Spaulding route on the Grand was actually the first rock climb I ever did. I was 14 and my dad and a buddy of his took me and my best freind at the time up it. It changed the course of my life perminantly. Even after sustaining some pretty brutal injurys climbing(i shattered my heel bone bouldering several years ago), it is still the number one focus in my life. I am never more at peace or at home than when i am in the mountains. The Tetons in particular will always hold a very special place in my heart. Even after seeing peaks in alaska and yosemite it always makes my jaw drop when I round that bend around the hill heading north from Jackson Hole.

I'm with ya. In the beginning it was about the conquering. Now more and more its about connecting and fulfillment. There aren't many areas in the US that can do that better than NW USA, Alberta, and to a degree The Sawtooths of Idaho. I appreciate your Dad.
My father wasn't an outdoor enthusiast but my uncle was, and is. Mine I owe to him. He lived in Colorado 12 years and moved to Seattle in the 1990s. I've done the 14ers & Rainier multiple times and it is a sacred mountain to me, especially above the clouds at sunrise. Still the places that beckon loudest are in the NW.
