The Guido Lammer shelter near the Milchseescharte

The Milchseescharte (2707m) is a high saddle northeast of Tschigat. The hiking trail on the north is steep and rough, but it's easy compared to the trail on the south. That's secured by cables, and would almost qualify as a Via Ferrata. The saddle is directly to the right of this brightly colored metal box, in German called the "Guido Lammer Biwak". It looks small, but is said to accommodate 9 people. 3 August 2012.
