The icefall on Ausangate, below high camp

The normal route on Ausangate gains the high plateau from the east. There are several possibilities to set up a high camp. One option is to camp just below the glacier, at 5450m or so. But as we were already reasonably well acclimatized, we skipped that, and continued to the base of the steep headwall, at 5750m. That meant negotiating this icefall. It's not really steep anywhere, and it turned out to be pretty easy to find a way up, actually. 1 June 2011.
