The Mweka Alternative Route...

The Mweka Alternative Route after descending off Mweka Ridge into this dry, dusty Death Valley like area. If someone tells you there's only that one ridge to climb and then it's all downhill to Rau Hut don't believe them. There are like 8 ridges - I thought they would never end ;-) Each ridge gets a little shorter and each valley has some more grasses and bushes. January 17, 2002.
