The old Sant Jeroni Aerial Tramway
The Sant Jeroni Aerial Tramway (Funicular Aeri de Sant Jeroni), in Montserrat, installed in 1929 and dismounted in 1988. Despite its name it actually leads to el Moro (the Moor) summit called Mirador del Moro (the Moor Sightpoint). Sant Jeroni summit is close, but at about 20 minutes walking.
The wall along which it climbed is sometimes called Paret de l'Aeri (Aerial's Wall), Paret de Sant Jeroni (Sant Jeroni's Wall) or Paret del Serrat del Moro -the most accurate name-, (Serrat del Moro Wall). It is the longest wall in Montserrat, with many outstanding climbing routes on it.
