Re: You made me laugh!Yeah, poor Jill. She's a solid climber, too! Here we were, snowshoeing back out to the truck on level ground and all in a sudden - BIFF! She just splatted out flat in the snow! Our friend Doug and I were laughing so hard we could hardly help her. She was laughing too, by the way...

Re: You made me laugh!Sounds like I should have been there! Climbing hard routes and big mountains is one thing, but having fun in the outdoors is much more important, right?

Re: You made me laugh!Having fun IS important in climbing! Sometimes I think we let other things get in the way of enjoying ourselves in the mountains and that's when this becomes a chore instead of a passion.
Some of my favorite days in the hills haven't been on gnarly, challenging routes but rather those days where I just stroll through autumn leaves or summer wildflowers with no sound but the wind and the laughter of my hiking buddies.
THAT is where serenity is found!
