The red route is the end of...
The red route is the end of the most direct route from Brown's Lake, the blue is the standard route, and the yellow is an alternate possibility: follow the road around and take the switchbacks up to the saddle. This avoids the elevation loss associated with going over the false summit. Be careful to take the fork to the left, as one of the roads heads down back down the mountain.
