Re: awesome!

Thanks, certainly a high point or low point in my life, I haven't figured out which.

I practically was crying just reading that story. Haunting, yet very grand story SLR!

Re: Shit..

Thank you, it's difficult to describe an experience like that. Only another climber would really understand...

Good read!

Not a climber but I get a sense of the spiritual journey this one took you on.

Re: Good read!

Thanks. There's a good book out by John Geiger called the Third Man Factor that describes the phenonemon of these unseen visitors. Even the great climber Reinhold Messner experienced the Third Man. From the book: "If only a handful of people had ever experienced the Third Man, it might be dismissed as an unusual delusion shared by a few overstressed minds. But the amazing thing is this: over the years, the experience has occurred again and again, to 9/11 survivors, mountaineers, divers, polar explorers, prisoners of war, solo sailors, aviators and astronauts. All have escaped traumatic events only to tell strikingly similar stories of having experienced the close presence of a helper or guardian."

Re: Good read!

Sure! I have no doubt a subtle being could pay one a helping visit when it's not your time to go and even if it is. BTW you must have known or gotten to know those climbers who passed you on the wall to get those photos, no?
