The south face
The south face of the Pica d'Estats is seen in this picture, taken from the estany (catalan term for "lake") d'Estats. The normal route from this side goes via the low col seen to the left (Port de Sotllo). The Pica d'Estats is the highest peak seen in the picture, and Pic Verdaguer (also a three-thousander!) stands to its left.
