Evening light is best. It is one of the great ironies of mountain photography that the best time to ascend mountains is in the eraly morning while the best light seems to be in the evening. Many of my favorite summits of this year I was able to be on after 3 pm (Snow Peak, North Traverse Peak , Mount Baldy, Mount Irving Hale). Lingering on a mountain as the sun sets is a very pleasant experience. As long as the thunder storms don't threaten at least... Thanks for the vote Ryan.
