The Thumb

The open slopes of the western summit. The whole area was still quite green despite this being August 1. Don't be fooled by this obvious break on the south side of The Thumb. There is ridge blocking the complete view of that route in this image. Once up close there is a vertical granite wall of about 10' to 15' blocking access up this break. Standing at the base of it, my number one option of using that break to gain the summit was foiled.
