The Trail

The trail is 11 Km long from the end of the road once crossed Puente Poncebos (Asturias) to Caín (León), though you could extend the hike either from the north or the south. The worst thing is that both extensions have the road near but the route to Posada de Valdeón (León) is quite recommendable. 20 June 2013

It is beautiful indeed Scott. We passed a very day nice there, it was rainy til an hour before our arrival to the starting point. It was good because one of the problems in Ruta del Cares is the heat in summer or late spring. And that the day the temperatures were not going to be high.
