The Tules

The Tules

Located on the East Fork Owyhee River about 3 miles north of Garat Crossing, “The Tules” area is one of the most unique features I’ve seen in Idaho. The river once flowed around the 300’ high block of rock on the left, but has now receded. Left behind is a wetland area you wouldn’t expect to find out in the middle of the dessert like this. Re: I wanna go ...

Its a long drive, but only the last mile or so requires a high clearance vehicle. More info here.

hike

This is has been the my top choice for hiking in the Owyhees. I haven't made it out there yet. I was hoping to in the next couple weeks or so. Looks like a looong drive. Great link
Any advice.

Re: hike

Thanks. My main advice would be to get out there early in the year while the wildflowers are still blooming and the rattlesnake risk is lower. Feel free to drop me a PM if there are any specifics you'd like to know about.
