The west ridge of Mount Fay...

The west ridge of Mount Fay as we near the Neil Colgan hut on August 22, 2004. We intended to try and do the west ridge the next day if weather permitted. It snowed all night and the next day the peak was shrouded by clouds so we shifted out attention elsewhere. William Marler, Nikon Cool Pix 5000.

Canadian Rockies Trip

Nice Picture of Mt Faye's West Ridge. It sounds like you didn't have good weather while you were there.

Cheers, Jonathan

Re: Canadian Rockies Trip

Hi Jonathan. No we did not. We managed a window to get up to the Neil Colgan hut but were aware the weather would close in on us again. It was bad everywhere worst at Mt Robson which was our original destination. We cancelled that without too much thought as the freezing levels were up to 13,000 feet at one point. All rain all the time. We got one nice day and did a rock climb of Ha ling peak. Very nice 11 pitches. Aside from the glacier (Neil Colgan)I managed a scramble every day except one where I could not find the route to South Kidd, but it was raining and fogged in so it wasn't wise to be doing something where I could not see where my destination was. But hay I tried and got in 5 hours of easy trail and some fruitless bushwacking. I hope all is well with you and your family. Cheer Bill
