Theodor Christomannos memorial

The construction of the Rotwandhütte (Roda di Vael) hut in the south-eastern part of the Catinaccio is due to Theodor Christomannos (1854 -1911). The monument dedicated to him is located nearby. The eagle was built in 1912. After a partial destruction the mighty bronze statue, measuring 2.50 meters in height, was rebuilt in 1959.
