Lookouts are special

Is this a lookout that is still being used or is it one that is being left as a historical monument? It looks like you drove a ton of miles on this trip (as usual).

My understanding is that it's actually just a radio repeater now.

rhang is correct. It used to be a fire lookout, but is being used for some communication equipment now. The windows were covered with metal shutters and it was pretty secure. There were no No Trespassing signs and I walked around the deck next to the building.
