"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

The Cabin is Gone! After 20+ years of looking at the cabin through binoculars from various summits in the area, I finally decided to go visit it. I looked at the latest trip reports from the spring and summer with some good images of the cabin. Imagine my surprise, after hiking all the way up there, to find it had been recently demolished. What a bummer. I cannot think of a good reason why you wouldn't let nature handle the demolition. It's not like there is a problem with too many structures on mountain summits these days...
I once watched a truck drive up to the cabin when I was on the summit of Granite Mtn. Those days are long gone, and I'm sure that whoever was driving that truck is bummed at what happened to his cabin.

Good end pointOriginally going for Revolution but started a little late for that peak. Settled for the true summit of Thompson Point and the cabin. Will be back for both Revolution and Russian Butte in the future.
