To the west of Forca degli Campanili (Rotlahnscharte) this labyrinth of towers tells, why the Latemar Group has been accused of putting up a "stage effect". An impressive north face, when seen from Karersee / Lago Carezza looks like it is decomposing at closer inspection. There are porphyrritic inlays which erode much faster than the main dolomite rock making these formation stupendous to look at but impossible to climb. July 18th 2005
